Mt Lyell Railway No.2 or Abt No.2 was the second engine to work on the Mt Lyell Mountain Railway along with Mt Lyell Railway No.1.

History[]

Abt No.2 worked with mineral and later passenger services right up until the Mt Lyell mining railways closer in 1963 where it was the last locomotive to be stored. It is know preserved and on display at the Tasmanian Transport Museum. It remains in the most original condition having had no rebuild like the other abt locomotives (No.1,No.3 and No.5).
