The Mt Lyell Railway Krauss No.10 was the final Krauss to arrive at the Mt Lyell Railway.

History[]

Mt Lyell Railway Krauss No.10 was built in 1910 as works number 6067. It mainly worked shunting mineral wagons and occasional pulling short distance trains. It purchased by the Queen Victoria Museum in 1970 and to Invermay Rail Heritage Precinct, Launceston. The Tasmanian Steam Preservation Society negotiated a lease of the loco for running on their private line 'The Second River Tramway' at Karoola. It then moved to the Redwater Creek Tramway in 1962. And finally it moved back to the Queen Victoria Museum which is the old Tasmanian Railway Workshops it remains on display there to this day.
