History[]
The Monticello Railway Museum was first founded as "SPUR, Inc" (Society for the Perpetuation of Unretired Railfans, Incorporated), although their name would be changed to "Monticello Railway Museum", and had opened to the public in 1966.
They had purchased their first locomotive and they currently preserve multiple locomotives and are sometimes restoring their locomotives and rolling stock either to operational condition or as static displays.
