The Minneapolis & St. Louis No. 471 is a "Consolidation" type 2-8-0 steam locomotive built in 1912 by Alco for the Minneapolis & St. Louis Railroad, and designed for freight service.

In 1943, it was Sold to the C.H. Klein Brick Co. at Chaska, MN, then later it was Sold to Donald Lind in 1967.

Today the locomotive is at the Borneke Construction but right now its under Cosmetic Restoration.

Trivia[]

  • This is one of only two surviving M&StL steam locomotives to have survived the scrapper's torch the other is #457.
  • It used to be stored for a potential railroad museum for many years until it was moved to Janesville, MN in 2015.
