The Minneapolis & St. Louis No. 457 is a "Consolidation" type 2-8-0 steam locomotive built in 1912 by Alco for the Minneapolis & St. Louis Railroad, and designed for freight service.
The locomotive was later sold to the American Crystal Sugar Co. in Mason City, IA, and donated to the City proper in 1959.
Today the locomotive is located in East Park, in Mason City, Iowa where it was put on public display. It is one of only two surviving M&StL steam locomotives (both of them 2-8-0s).
