Milwaukee Road No. 522 (also known as Dakota Southern No. 522) is an EMD SD7 diesel locomotive that was built by the Electro-Motive Division (EMD) for the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railway (better known as the Milwaukee Road) in October 1953.

History[]

Milwaukee Road No. 522 was manufactured in October 1953 for the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railway (better known as the Milwaukee Road) and was delivered to the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railway (better known as the Milwaukee Road) that same year in 1953.

Upon being delivered to the Milwaukee Road, it was first numbered as 2222, but later on in its career, it was renumbered to 522. No. 522 had remained in service on the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railway (better known as the Milwaukee Road) until it would be retired from service and was donated to the Dakota Southern Railway after being retired from service on the Milwaukee Road.

However, No. 522's career came to a sudden end when it was last photographed in 2021 and was sadly scrapped.
