No. 79 was a class 70 0-6-2 steam locomotive that was built for Manila Railroad by North British Locomotive Co in 1908. 79 and its siblings were used on mainline services to replace the older Dagupan class and to help the railroad. In 1936, No. 79 hauled a hospital train. No. 79 was sold to Pampanga Sugar Development Company and was given a tender if their Baldwin-built No. 2 did not work. The unit survived until 1989, though rather in a derelict state. Its likely that the engine was scrapped before 2006.
