There were thousands of Multiple Units around the world that were built in several time periods, but some Multiple Units were retired or withdrawn from service and placed in scrapyards. Some Multiple Units had survived into the preservation era when being replaced by another, but not every single class of Multiple Units survived into Preservation. These are some of the classes that no longer exist.
