LNER Class A1 No. 2547 "Doncaster" (and Later an LNER A3) was one of the LNER Gresley A1/A3 Class 4-6-2 Pacific Steam locomotives Built at the LNER Doncaster Works and it entered service on August 30, 1924.

It was also known for being featured in 1932 Film "Number 17".

It was rebuilt and redesignated as an A3 on May 10, 1946 and had been renumbered as North Eastern #48 before it lasted into BR Days and renumbered as BR #60048, it was withdrawn from active service on September 19, 1963. Although No. 4472 "Flying Scotsman" survived beyond the days of steam, No. 2547 "Doncaster" was sadly scrapped immediately after being withdrawn.
