The Iyonada Monogatari (second gen) is a sightseeing limited express Joyful Train operated by Shikoku Railway Company from April 2022 to present.
History[]
The KiHa 47 cars made their final run in December 2021, and were replaced by a 3-car KiHa 185 series DMU in April 2022. The train interiors were updated, with the first two cars largely retaining the style and ambience of the first generation, and the third car being a limited private compartment.
Design[]
The design similar to Iyonada Monogatari (first gen) which include the first and second car (Akane Chapter) used a red color scheme to reflect the sunset colors of the Iyo seaside and rose madder. The third car (Golden Chapter) used a gold and orange color scheme to reflect the colors of the sun and citrus fruits of Ehime.
Much of the set's technical specifications remain the same as normal KiHa 185 series cars, although this section will detail the modifications made to the cars. Like the first gen Iyonada Monogatari, this train also equipped a . The KiHa 40 Iyonada Motogatari is the second train after JR Shikoku 5000 series which JR Shikoku's train equipped with musical horn. The KiHa 185 Iyonada Motogatari is the second train after JR Shikoku 5000 series and KiHa 40 series/Iyonada Monogatari which JR Shikoku's train equipped with musical horn.
