The Class 26 is a diesel multiple-unit locomotive operating for Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad.

Overview[]

The locomotive is manufactured by Bombardier with contract from GE. Five were initially delivered in 2003, with an additional 15 later in the year. The locomotive holds a number of statistical records for KTM. At 23.7 meters, the Class 26 is the longest diesel locomotive in KTM. It is also one of the most powerful at 3,400 HP. The locomotive is nicknamed as the Blue Tiger due to a painting of a tiger in blue lines on both sides of the locomotive.

The locomotives are numbered from 26101 to 26120. Each locomotive is named after capes in Malaysia.
