The Class 24 is a multiple-unit diesel locomotive operating for Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad.
Overview[]
The Class 24s were built by Toshiba Electric Co in Japan and were delivered to KTM in 1987. A total of 26 units were delivered. Much like the Class 23, it uses a Pielstick engine, named SP16 PA4V 200 VG. It was rumored that they were initially powered at 3000 HP but were reduced to 2400 HP due to overheating issues.
