John Quincy Adams is an 0-4-0 "Grasshopper" style steam locomotive built in 1835 at the B&O Mt. Claire shops for the Baltimore & Ohio railroad.

The locomotive was known for its efficiency, since it could run 80 miles on a single ton of coal. This locomotive was designed and built by Phineas Davis, one of the engineers who contributed to the development of locomotive technology in the United States. Col. Edward A. Deeds, Chairman of the Board of the National Cash Register Company, aquired the John Quincy Adams, from the B & O Railroad for display at Carillon Historical Park in April 1947.

Today this oldest locomotive is on display at Carillon Park in Dayton, Ohio.
