The JR Freight Class DB500 is a diesel-hydraulic locomotive operated by the Japan Freight Railway Company since March 2017.

The DB500 is a switcher locomotive designed by JR Freight, intended for switching at stations and small freight terminals.
The first locomotive, DB500-1, was completed in October 2016; it entered service in March 2017 with the introduction of the revised timetable. After some specification changes the -50 subseries was introduced in 2021. A total of four locomotives were produced.

The DB500s are fitted with a four-cycle inline-six prime mover; DB500-1's prime mover produces 250 PS (184 kW) while DB500-51 through DB500-53's prime movers produce 285 PS (210 kW).
