The JNR Class Ke DB11 was a Japanese very-narrow gauge diesel-mechanical locomotive operated by the Japanese National Railways from 1935 to May 1942.
History[]
Ke DB11 was originally built around 1932 by the Whitcomb Locomotive Company for the Miyazaki Prefectural Electric Railway; it was originally numbered 2. In Whitcomb's catalog, the locomotive was designated "Type MO-ADR". JNR's records claim the locomotive was built by an "Asano Bussan Co. Ltd." although Miyazaki Prefectural Electric Railway's records clearly state the locomotive was produced by Whitcomb.
When the Miyazaki Prefectural Electric Railway was acquired by the JNR in 1935, 2 was renumbered Ke DB11. Ke DB11 was struck from the register in May 1942, although it was likely only used until around October 1941 when the sections of track the locomotive was used on were converted to 3 ft 6 in gauge (1,067 mm) track; any further details regarding the locomotive's service history are not known.

Ke DB11 was powered by a Waukesha DR V4 engine which made about 53 horsepower (39.5 kW). This was mated to a 4-speed mechanical transmission.
