The JGR Class 3450 (originally the Hankaku Railway Class A3) was a 2-6-2T Prairie-type side tank steam locomotive operated by the Japanese Government Railways from 1898 to 1922.

History

The Class 3450 was an early steam locomotive operated in Japan. The type was ordered by the Hankaku Railway, with two locomotives built by the Brooks Locomotive Works. Numbered 6 and 7, both were assigned the Class A3 and were very similar to the Class A7 locomotives transferred to the railroad later.

After the Railway Nationalization Act was passed in 1909, the locomotives were renumbered the Class 3450. The locomotives were retired in 1922, with their final days being spent around the Nagoya area. No Class 3450s have been preserved.
