The JGR Class 3050 (originally the Sangu Railway Class 3) was a 2-6-2T Prairie-type side well tank steam locomotive operated by the Japanese Government Railways from 1907 to 1934.

History

The Class 3050 was an early steam locomotive operated in Japan. The type was ordered by the Sangu Railway, with two locomotives built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works and delivered to the railroad in 1907; these were classified the Class 3 and numbered 9 and 10. The locomotives were renamed the Class 3050 in 1909 with a rule having been enacted to standardize locomotive naming with the locomotives renumbered 3050 and 3051.

The locomotives were retired on the JGR in 1934 and sold to the Kokura Railway. 3051 was then sold to the Onahana Rinko Railway and retired in 1952 while 3050 was reacquired by the JGR and retired in 1948. No Class 3050s have been preserved.
