The JGR Class 3020 (originally the Kōbu Railway Class K3) was a 2-6-2T Prairie-type side tank steam locomotive operated by the Japanese Government Railways from 1897 to 1938.

History

The Class 3020 was an early steam locomotive operated in Japan. The type was ordered by the Kōbu Railway, with two locomotives built by the Brooks Locomotive Works and delivered to the railroad in 1897; these were classified the Class K3 and numbered 10 to 12. The locomotives were renamed the Class 3020 in 1909 with a rule having been enacted to standardize locomotive naming.

The locomotives were mainly used around the Gunma region. 3022 was sold to the Seibu Railway, renumbered 6 and retired around 1938. No Class 3020s have been preserved.
