The JGR Class 2100 (and the similar Class 2120, 2400 and 2500), originally known as the JGR Class B6, are 0-6-2T Webb-type side tank steam locomotives built for the JGR from 1890 to 1905.

History

The 2100s were used mainly as freight locomotives and were mostly imported from the United Kingdom or Germany. The locomotives were retired in 1953 after sixty-three years of service. Some 2100s served in Taiwan as the CK80 Class, while some 2120s were sent to Manchuria. A number were converted into Class 2700, 2900 and 3500 locomotives which attempted to increase the water and coal capacity of the locomotives.

Six locomotives have survived into preservation; one, 2109, is operational. It previously hauled excursions on the Ōigawa Railway.
