The JGR Class 1310 (originally the Hokkaido Railway Class 3) was a 0-6-0T Switcher-type side tank steam locomotive operated by the Japanese Government Railways from 1922 to 1957.

History

The Class 1310 was an early steam locomotive operated in Japan. The type was ordered by the Hokkaido Railway, with two locomotives built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works in the United States and imported into Japan in 1922. The locomotive was assigned the Class 3 and numbered 3 and 4 on the Hokkaido Railway.

When the Hokkaido Railway was acquired by the JGR in 1943, the locomotives were reclassified as the Class 1310 and numbered 1310 and 1311. 1310 was moved to the Tōyama Chihō Railway and reclassified the Class 3020 and renumbered as such, then moved to the Kaetsunō Railway until it was retired in 1957. 1311 was rented to the Yūbetsu Railway in 1948 before officially being transferred in 1952 and used until 1957. No Class 1310s have been preserved.
