The Illinois Central No. 764 is a 2-8-0 "Consolidation" Type steam locomotive built by the Rogers Locomotive Works (ALCO) for the Illinois Central in 1904.
The locomotive started on the main line hauling freight trains but it was relegated to branch lines as heavier motive power arrived.
In 1955 the locomotive was Retired from active service and it is seen today on static display at the Museum of Transportation.
