The H.K. Porter 0-6-0ST is a series of 0-6-0 saddle tank steam locomotives that were designed and mass produced by the H.K. Porter Company in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
History[]
Several models of locomotives produced by H.K. Porter utilized this 0-6-0ST design. Many of these examples were constructed and delivered to various railways and industrial operations throughout the United States of America while others were imported overseas. One of the few railroads to buy this locomotive type in bulk was the Brooklyn Eastern District Terminal, who operated several of them.
Most were retired once diesels started being utilized more on the railroads that had operated the H.K. Porter 0-6-0STs.
As of today, some examples of this design have been preserved as either static display exhibits or are even still operational in running condition at various tourist railroads or heritage railways.
