The Grand Trunk No. 713 is a "Mogul" type 2-6-0 steam locomotive. It was built in 1900 by the GTR Point St. Charles Shops for the Grand Trunk Railroad as No. 922 then years later renumbered #1396.

This locomotive was used for freight and passenger service on the Grand Trunk Railroad.

It was used on the New England Lines between Portland, Me. and Island Pond, Vt. Mostly, it served on the Lewiston, Maine branch line which left the main line at Lewiston Junction and went into Lewiston proper, a total distance of 5.43 miles.

It is later sold to the Canadian National Railway and it was renumbered as No. 713.

The locomotive is now at the Canadian Railway Museum where it resides today on static display.

  • This locomotive was featured in "The Tale of Train Magic" of the "Are You Afraid of the Dark?" series.
  • The engine never servied on the Grand Trunk Western railroad.
  • In 1967 the locomotive was Loaned to the National Museum of Science & Technology.
