GWR 6800 Class No. 6853 "Morehampton Grange" was one of the 80 original examples of the 6800 "Grange" Class 4-6-0 "Ten-Wheelers" steam locomotives built by the GWR's own Swindon Works.
History[]
No. 6853 "Morehampton Grange" was built in November 1937 and entered service right after it was constructed. It had operated on the GWR's system for a total of 28 years.
It was withdrawn from service in October 1965 and was sent to George Cohen & Sons' scrapyard at Cransley, to the west of Kettering. No. 6853 "Morehampton Grange" was scrapped along with all of its fellow sister locomotives.
