No. 397 and No. 398 at Oyster Bay. (Note the red paint on No. 398)

The General Electric GS-1 Switchers No. 397 and No. 398 nicknamed "Dashing Dan" and Dashing Dottie" are two of three (397, 398, 399) four-wheeled, chain driven, 25 ton diesel locomotives that toiled away in the backshops of the Long Island Railroad, NY, from their creation date of 1958 through the early 2000s. They were used primarily for shuttling locomotives and coaches to and from the shops. These engines served the railroad well, working in virtual anonymity. Preferred by the employees who used them, they were affectionately known as Dinkys.

Today, the 397 remains on display at the Oyster Bay Railroad Museum while the 398 has been restored to operation by said museum. Also, it should be noted that no. 398 has been painted in a PRR paint scheme and renumbered to no. 26 in honor of the twenty-sixth president, Theodore Roosevelt.
