3287 was a C1 4-4-2 steam locomotive that was originally built by Doncaster Works for the Great Northern Railway as 287 in 1904. 287 hauled passenger trains with its siblings for the GNR intill it was merged to form the LNER. 287 became 3287 and was superseded on the heaviest trains by the Gresley A1 Pacifics in the early 1920s. 3287 still found service the lighter expresses intill it was withdrawn on the 6th, October, 1945 and was scrapped, all expect for its boiler which was one of three C1 boilers to be used at Maldon timber factory and served intill 1975. They weren’t scrapped and was abandoned.
