No. 53 was a class N3 that was built originally as a 0-8-0 for the Gävle Dala Järnvägar in 1908.
Statens Järnvägar[]
In 1948, No. 53 was sold to Statens Järnvägar and was renumbered to 1837. From 1950 to 1951, No. 1873 and its siblings were rebuilt with new boilers, new cabs, new tenders and leading wheels.
Final Days[]
No. 1837 spent its final days in Dalarna before it was withdrawn in 1970 and was sent to Hybo and was scrapped in 1973, but not before its headlight was removed and was taken care of by a enthusiast and was given to the Museiföreningen gefle-dala jernväg where it have been ever since.
