In 1912, Gävle - Dala Railway acquired two eight-coupled freight locomotives type N3 that were built in 1912 by Nohab with numbers 57 and 58. They differed from the previous locomotive type (from 1908 and SJ type G8) by an enlarged steam boiler. Upon nationalization in 1948, letter G9 was obtained and they were renumbered to 1841 & 1842. both served until the 1960s within Dalarna, when they were retired as standby locomotives. They were withdrawn in 1970. 1841 was scrapped in 1973 while 1842 was sold to High Chaparral in 1977 as a park locomotive. Its still there to this day.
