Russell is a 15 inch Gauge model of the real Russell steam locomotive that works on the Welsh Highland Railway.
History[]
Russell was originally built by Milner Engineering in 1979 for the Réseau Guerlédan in France but this railway closed and the locomotive was never shipped. The locomotive was originally named Elaine and based on a Leek & Manifold tank engine. However it was sold to the Fairbourne Railway and rebuilt into a replica of Russell a large narrow gauge tank engine that works on the know preserved Welsh Highland Railway.
