The Est class 11s Nos. 3501 to 3890 (future SNCF 1-230.B.501 to 890), is a class of 4-6-0 Ten Wheeler mixed-traffic stem locomotive, designed by the chief mechanical engineer of the Compagnie des Chemins de fer de l'Est, Mr Louis Salomon. It was the most numerous French 4-6-0 class.
Locomotive No. 3610 , which was then the newest of the series in service, participated in the 1905 World's Fair in Liège .
The 1-230 B and the cinema: the 1-230 B were the stars of the film The Train shot by John Frankenheimer in 1964 and in particular the 1-230 B 517 driven by Michel Simon .
