Erie No. 3356 was an S-3 class Berkshire-type steam locomotive built in August 1928 by the Baldwin Locomotive Works for the Erie Railroad.
It was built for both passenger and freight service on the Erie railroad. For over 2 decades the engine served the Erie before being retired from revenue service in 1951, and it was sold for scrap later that same year in June.[1]

- This locomotive was very similar to the s-2 Berkshire of the NKP but this locomotive has a smaller steam dome and is slightly larger.
- The description of the "Polar express" The the Know-it-all kid says "Actually, it's a Baldwin 2-8-4 S3-class Berkshire type steam locomotive built in 1931 at the Baldwin Locomotive Works. It weighs 456,100 pounds and has a tractive force of 3,450 pounds.." This description matches up to this locomotives identity
