Erie Lackawanna No. 3627 is an EMD SD45 diesel locomotive built by the Electro-Motive Division (EMD) of General Motors for the Erie Lackawanna Railway.

History[]

No. 3627 was constructed by the Electro-Motive Division (EMD) of General Motors during the production of the EMD SD45s and it was delivered to the Erie Lackawanna Railway that same year after it was constructed, No. 3628 was powered by an EMD 645E3 V-20 turbo-charged diesel engine.

No. 3627 served well on the Erie Lackawanna Railway hauling trains until the company had went bankrupt in 1976 and became one of the many assets that was absorbed into the Consolidated Rail Corporation (Conrail). It was retired from active service and was sadly scrapped.
