Though designed as a Shunting\Yard switcher, SW1500s are often used as MainLine\Road locomotives; most had EMD.FlexiCoilB replacing older EMD.CommonWealth\AAR BogieTrucks. The design proved reliable\maintainable & SW1500s are likely to remain in service for the forseeable future.
