The EMD SD30 was a proposed EMD locomotive would have been reusing a EMD GP30, but this time this attempt would be in a C-C Wheel Arrangement.
Ideas for the Design[]
The EMD SD30 would have featured GP30 components, the goal was to make it as resemble an EMD GP30 but this time it would use 3-Axle trucks and it would have the same performance of the GP30, it would have the same power from it's prime mover producing a power output of 2,250 hp (1677.9 kW), as well as some extra tractive effort due to having six powered axels.
