Caledonia is an 0-4-0 well tank locomotive.



History[]

Caledonia (No.70) was built by Andrew Barclay & Sons in 1931 as builders number 1995 for use on the Burnhope Reservoir Railway which was operated by the county of Durham to construct a dam to flood the Burnhope Burn Valley, this project finished in 1937 and No.70 as it was called then was sold to the Dinorwic Slate Quarry in North Wales. It operated at the quarry until 1962 when it was sold to the Hollycombe Steam Collection where it operated for a while. It is currently under overhaul due to return to Hollycombe soon. The boiler is at the Severn Valley Railway.
