History[]

Wellington was built in 1877 by De Winton and company to a gauge of 1 ft 10 3/4 for the Dinorwic slate quarry in North Wales, United Kingdom as their first locomotive. Wellington worked at Dinorwic until the mid to late 1890s when it was put aside as it became outdated for the work at hand and sold in 1898 to the Glynrhonwy Quarry which closed in 1930 and Wellington was scrapped in the late 1920s and early 1930s.
