D&R 4-4-0 8 at NSRM 7

Dardanelle & Russelville No. 8 is a 4-4-0 built by the Cooke Locomotive & Machine Co. in 1888 for the Denver, Texas & Forth Worth Railroad Co. as #9.

In 1906, the locomotive was sold to the Dardanelle & Russellville Railroad #8 at Dardanelle, AR it operated there until 1940, when it was later sold to the Twentieth C St. Louis, Iron Mountain & Southern Railway.

  • In 1971, it was Sold to the Shortline Enterprises #8 at Cucamonga, CA.
  • This engine was used in the G.E. commercial, along with NSRM's #22 INYO, recreating the Golden Spike ceremony.
