D&RGW No. 319 was a C-18 class 2-8-0 "Consolidation" type narrow gauge steam locomotive built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works of Philadelphia, PA in 1882, originally owned and operated by Florence & Cripple Creek Railroad (F&CC) as their No. 9, and later sold to the Denver & Rio Grande Railroad (D&RG). It was originally numbered as D&RG 429 until the D&RG became the Denver & Rio Grande Western Railroad (D&RGW) in 1924, after which, it was renumbered to D&RGW 319. Unfortunately, it suffered a horrific wreck on July 17, 1951 as part of a movie shoot and was later deemed damaged beyond repair and eventually scrapped on September 15, 1951.

However, sister class C-18 locomotives 315 and 318 have both survived in preservation as of today. 315 is now owned and operated by the Durango Railroad Historical Society for use on special excursion trains and photo charters and is currently on loan at the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad (C&TS) between Chama, NM and Antonito, CO until at least 2025 and 318 is on static display at the Colorado Railroad Museum in Golden, CO.
