
The Cowichan Valley No. 24 is an 0-4-0T built in 1906 by the Vulcan Iron Works for the Pittsburgh Eastern Co. as #11.
It was built as a yard goat for the Pittsburgh Eastern Co. then later the Renova Coal Co. and the Elk River Colliery where the locomotive is renumbered as #44.
In 1965, it was sold to the Cowichan Valley Forest Museum and renumbered as #24.
Today the locomotive is stored at the BC Forest Discovery Center.
