The Climax locomotive is a type of geared steam locomotive manufactured by the Climax Locomotive Company (Later renamed Climax Locomotive Works) from 1888 - 1928. Around 1,000 were built and around twenty-five survive today. They were built in three different classes. Those class being Class A, Which had the two cylinders vertically placed in the center, of which powered two trucks. The Class B, Which looks more like a traditional American Steam Locomotive with the cylinder mounted at an angle beside the boiler which also powered two trucks. And the Class C, which is the same as the Class B but with an extra powered truck that carried additional water at the back.
