Chicago & Illinois Eastern No. 1008 is a K-2 class 4-6-2 "Pacific" type steam locomotive built by Baldwin in 1911 for the Chicago & Illinois Eastern railroad.
The locomotive was used for passenger service on the Chicago & Illinois Eastern railroad, and was used to head up the crack Dixie Flager train.
In 1940 it received a cosmetic streamlining at the railroad's Oaklawn shops, but no mechanical modifications were carried out.
In April 1943, the streamlining on the locomotive was removed, and the locomotive was scrap shortly after.
