Chesapeake & Ohio No. 2707 is a "Berkshire" type 2-8-4 locomotive built for the C&O by ALCO in 1943.

It was designed for fast freight and passengers; the first K-4s also hauled passenger trains and performed so well that ten more were ordered from Lima in 1945 (#2740-#2749).

It was retired from service and it was donated to the City of Cincinnati for display in the mid-1950s.

An Illinois Railway Museum member bought the locomotive in 1981 and eventually went into the IRM's ownership in 1991.

As of today, it is at the Illinois Railway Museum where it is put on static display.
