Central of Georgia No. 223 is a 2-8-0 "Consolidation" type built by Baldwin in 1907 for the Central of Georgia railroad.
In 1952, the locomotive went to Wrightville & Tennile Railroad.
It is now seen on static display at the Coastal Heritage Museum in Savannah, GA.
Trivia[]
- It is also seen in the 2010 film "The Conspirator" in which it was dressed up as one of the locomotives that pulled Abraham Lincoln's funeral train. Because Lincoln died in 1865, the locomotive is anachronistic having been built 42 years after Lincoln's death.
- It was moved to the Museum in 1998.
