The Central Railroad of New Jersey Class G-3 was a class of five 4-6-2 "Pacific" type steam locomotives built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works for the Central Railroad of New Jersey in 1928.

History[]

In the mid to late 1920s, the Central Railroad of New Jersey needed more locomotives to operate their Blue Comet passenger trains, so the Baldwin Locomotive Works had drawn up plans for a new class for the Central Railroad of New Jersey which resulted in the construction and creation of the Central Railroad of New Jersey Class G-3.

A total of five examples were built in 1928 and they were all delivered to the Central Railroad of New Jersey that same year.

The class was withdrawn in 1955 and all five examples were scrapped, thus rendering them extinct.
