Central Pacific No. 2000 is a 4-8-0 steam locomotive. It was built by the Schnectady Locomotive Works, as a 2-cylinder cross compound and placed into service in October 1892.
This locomotive is the Central Pacific's first experimental compound locomotive, and its first Eastern-built 4-8-0 locomotive.
The locomotive was built on the Central Pacific railroad to haul passenger, and freight trains for many years until locomotive was retired and later scrapped in 1950.
