The Cass Scenic Railroad is a heritage railroad located in Cass, West Virginia and operated by the Durbin & Greenbrier Valley Railroad in Durbin, WV. The railroad has a collection of geared steam locomotives, most of them are operational and used on tourist excursion trains.

- 3-truck Shay locomotive 5 was designated as the official state steam locomotive of West Virginia.
- 3-truck Shay locomotive 5 is the oldest operational Shay locomotive in the world.
- The railroad has two locomotives with the road number 6. Heisler locomotive 6 is lettered with Cass Scenic Railroad and 3-truck Shay locomotive 6 is lettered with Western Maryland.
- Restoration on Climax locomotive 9 began in the early 2000s and was completed in September 2019, at which point, the locomotive joined the operational fleet at the railroad. It was originally numbered as 6, but was renumbered to 9 since the railroad already has two Shay locomotives in service with the road number 6.
- As of June 2016, Heisler locomotive 6 is leased to the Durbin & Greenbrier Valley Railroad until their Climax locomotive 3 returns to service from its Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) mandated 1,472-day boiler inspection and overhaul.
