Canadian Pacific No. 508 was a 4-4-0 "American" or "Eight-Wheeler" that was built for the Canadian Pacific Railway.

History[]

On June 21, 1900, Canadian Pacific No. 508 was operating on its usual route in northwestern New Brunswick while it was traversing across a bridge that spans the St. John River at Grand Falls when the bridge had collapsed under the train's weight and No. 508 along with most of the train had fell into the river, no one was killed in the accident, however there were some injuries to some of the victims.

In 2000 (One century after the crash), a man by the name of Erie Ouellette, who was a Canadian National Railway employee, had first heard the news about the accident and had did do some diving.
