Cnr6403

This photo from Elwin K. Heath shows No. 6403 near the famed Turcot roundhouse at Montréal, being readied for her first run under steam when new.

Canadian National No. 6403 was one of five class U-4-a 4-8-4 "Northern" type steam locomotives built by Montreal Locomotive Works in 1936 for the Canadian National Railway.

The Canadian National Railway used this locomotive for crack passenger service for much of its working career.

It was retired from active service in November 1961 and was sold for scrap later that same year.
