Canadian National No. 1392 is a 4-6-0 that was owned and operated by the Alberta Railway Museum and is currently based in Edmonton, Alberta.
History[]
Canadian National Railway 4-6-0 number 1392 was built by the Montreal Locomotive Works in 1913 for the Canadian Northern Railway before it was absorbed into the current CNR.
Designated as a 'H-6g', 1392 began passenger service hauling trains to Edmonton, Alberta until the arrival of heavier and faster locomotives for mainline service.
Yet the locomotive went on to other services such as mixed and way freight traffic for the CNR until the late 1950's.
For the next five years, 1392 entered shortline service where she was used for dual traffic across the Canadian National Railway system including work and weed service in Alberta.
Retired from active service in 1955, she was then put on display at the Edmonton Exhibition grounds before 1970 marked her new life at the Alberta Railway Museum for excursion service.
For later years, 1392 became a celebrity locomotive hauling a plethora of small excursion trains throughout the Western part of Canada.
