Chevalier was an 0-4-2 saddle tank locomotive.
History[]
Chevalier was built in 1885 by Andrew Barclay and sons as builders number 269 for use on the colliery railway that preceded the Campbeltown and Machrihanish Light Railway (C&MLR) which opened in 1902 and Chevalier became part of. Chevalier was rebuilt in 1926 using parts from Princess (another locomotive used on the line) converting it to a 0-4-2 from a 0-4-0. The C&MLR closed in 1932 and Chevalier was sold or/and scrapped then or sometime later.
